Community members met at Mndozo, KwaGudlucingo, to receive an update on the petition for recognition as a separate Isigodi and to discuss the customary nomination process for prospective Induna candidates

Community members gathered for a follow-up meeting regarding the petition for the recognition of KwaGudlucingo as a separate Isigodi under the Khathide Traditional Council.
The meeting formed part of the ongoing community consultation process following the petition adopted on 27 June 2026 and its submission through Inkosi Kubheka.
The meeting was facilitated by the same community leadership committee that has been coordinating the petition process on behalf of the community.
The meeting included discussions on:
- Progress regarding the petition submitted through Inkosi Kubheka.
- The customary process for identifying and nominating prospective Induna candidates.
- Community discussion on candidate eligibility considerations.
- Preparations for a future public community voting process.
- Other governance matters relating to the recognition process.
Representatives of the South African Police Service (SAPS) attended the meeting, and an attendance register was completed by community members present.
